Whether you’re looking to upskill your staff in a Brief Intervention professional development session, or your team could benefit from learning more about the effects of drugs, DEN has a training package or workshop to suit your needs.

Give your organisation, club or team the skills they need to assist others while increasing their access to alcohol and other drug-related information, resources, and support.

DEN’s workshops and training sessions are evidence-based, and regularly engage the services of their Lived Experience Speakers to offer important insights that help to contextualise your understanding and awareness.

Workshops are free, however a booking fee of $55 applies.

This workshop is suitable for any workplace, association, or club looking to respond to alcohol or other drug use concerns within their organisation. This workshop will provide you with knowledge around why people use drugs, the effects of drugs, how to minimise harms caused by drugs, when and how to start a conversation about drugs, and where to access information and support.

Escalated and challenging behaviours often seem to come from nowhere, and it can be difficult to know what is happening and how to respond in the moment. Provide your team with the information and resources they need to engage with clients who are displaying challenging behaviours as a result of alcohol or other drug use.

In this workshop, participants will learn about the relationship between substance use and mental health. Participants will increase their understanding of mental ill health and how a person’s overall level of well-being can affect their level of substance use, as well as how their substance use can in turn influence their mental health.

A Brief Intervention is a short, opportunistic way to encourage another person to reflect on their health, behaviour or habits. Take a deep dive into an effective, evidence-based approach to health behaviour change. This foundational training course will introduce you to the methodology behind Brief Interventions, and prepare you to apply your learning in the accompanying Masterclass.
