BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

This role will provide support for two health promotion projects run by TasCOSS.

The HeLLOTas! Project is founded on the groundbreaking, evidence-based HeLLOTas! Toolkit — a toolkit designed to take community service organisations on a journey to assess and improve their organisational health literacy with practical tools, resources and peer support.

Over the last three years, the HeLLOTas! Project has increased awareness of health literacy for service providers across Tasmania through initiatives, including communities of practice, attendance at conferences, and the development and use of health literacy resources.

The second project is the Enhancing the Role of Community Service Organisations in Supporting Smoking Cessation. The project funds ten Community Smoke-Free Projects to help embed smoking cessation into the everyday practice of Tasmanian community service organisations. To support this work, the project also convened a Smoke-Free Community of Practice to support practitioners in community service organisations
