The Department of Justice is seeking expressions of interest from professionals who wish to be considered for registration as a witness intermediary on the intermediaries panel. The Tasmanian Witness Intermediary Scheme provides an exciting opportunity for appropriately qualified professionals to utilise their skills in the criminal justice system.
Candidates with the following qualifications and experience are eligible to apply to be appointed as members of the intermediaries panel:
- Speech pathologists;
- Psychologists;
- Occupational therapists;
- Social workers; or
- Other people with qualifications or appropriate skills to perform the role.
Information sessions will be held online during the expression of interest period. These sessions will run for approximately one hour and will be held at:
- 5:15pm, Monday 16 December 2024
- 1pm, Thursday 9 January 2025
Applicants are encouraged to attend an online session if further information is sought. The sessions will provide information about the role and will include a Q&A format.
Applications must contain a curriculum vitae of no more than two pages (2) and the names of two (2) professional referees. Applicants should refer to the selection criteria when completing their expression of interest. The statement addressing the selection criteria should be no more than two (2) pages.
Applications should be marked ‘PERSONAL & CONFIDENTIAL’ and must be submitted no later than 11:55pm, Friday, 31 January 2025 by email to applications@justice.tas.gov.au.
