The Working Well study is a statewide survey that aims to capture and create a benchmark of the capabilities within Tasmanian organisations for creating and maintaining mentally healthy workplaces.
The Working Well study is an initiative of WorkSafe Tasmania funded by WorkCover Tasmania and is based on a similar initiative run by SafeWork NSW.
Our team at Menzies will survey around 650 (10%) of Tasmanian organisations with 4+ employees and is seeking survey responses from 13,200 (5%) of people who work and live in Tasmania. Participation involves completing a 20-minute survey, either by phone interview or online. The aim of Working Well is to create a benchmark of the capabilities and the needs that Tasmanian employers have for managing the mental health of their workforce.
The survey questions span four themes:
- Leadership, culture and practices
- Risk management
- Education and training
- Support services
How will Working Well benefit Tasmanian organisations and employees?
The survey results will be used to inform WorkSafe Tasmania’s Workplace Mental Health Framework and to help create a Blueprint to guide employers in finding support to address areas of need.
This is the largest study of workplace mental health in Tasmania’s history, and it has the potential to improve policy and practice and to positively impact individuals and organisations well into the future. We know we will need the help of many champions to achieve our target sample!
