Sexual Assault Support Service: Sexual Assault Awareness Month

With April here, we’re marking Sexual Assault Awareness Month — a time to raise awareness, support victim-survivors, and strengthen prevention efforts across our communities. This year, our campaign, Play It Safe: Building Respect in Community Sport, focusses on the role sporting environments can play in shaping respectful, safe and inclusive cultures.

From the policies clubs put in place, to coaches leading by example, to teammates looking out for one another – small, everyday actions can help build environments where respect and safety are the norm. Over time, this is how we shift culture, and ultimately, change the statistics. Sport is such a strong part of Tasmanian community life, and it offers a powerful platform to model positive behaviours and challenge harmful norms.
