The Youth Network of Tasmania (YNOT) is teaming up with the Financial Advice Association of Australia (FAAA) to test a national financial literacy training resource to see how it fits with the needs of young Tasmanians. Supported by the Bank of Us and the City of Launceston.
Managing your money is one of the biggest parts of becoming independent and young Tasmanians have told us that it’s a skill they want and need to learn.
Join us at a free Financial Literacy Youth workshop for young people aged 15-25 years. You’ll take part in the FAAA’s Money and Life workshop with a professional paraplanner (associate financial adviser), covering real-life topics like:
- starting your first job and reading a payslip
- budgeting, savings and needs versus wants
- debt versus smart buying (e.g., by now, pay later services)
- superannuation basics.
After the workshop, you’ll share your views with YNOT on what works, what’s missing, and how this kind of education should be delivered to young people. Your feedback will help shape a youth-friendly financial literacy program for young Tasmanians!
No boring lectures – just real, practical info, lunch and games, and a $100 gift card as thanks for your time and input.
Only 20 spots are available. Register today to secure your spot!
