The Mental Health First Aid course teaches participants how to provide initial support to someone who is experiencing a mental health problem or crisis.

Learn About

  • The signs and symptoms of common mental health problems in adults
  • How to provide initial help
  • Where and how to get professional help
  • What sort of help has been shown by research to be effective, and
  • How to provide first aid in a crisis situation

  • This course is based on guidelines developed through the expert consensus of people with lived experience of mental health problems and professionals.
  • Evaluations consistently show that MHFA training is associated with – improved knowledge of mental illness, their treatments and appropriate first aid strategies, and confidence in providing first aid to individuals with mental illness.

Accreditation

Complete an online assessment after the course to become an accredited Mental Health First Aider.

Please Note

This course is not a therapy or support group, it’s an education course to learn how to give first aid to others.

You must be 18 years or older to attend.
