Healthy Tasmania has partnered with Common Cause Australia to provide training in values-based messaging for the Department of Health and Public Health Services staff, health and community service workers and community organisations.
VBM is based on decades of research from the fields of social psychology and cognitive linguistics. This approach to messaging involves engaging people’s deeply held values to motivate concern and action. VBM is effective in creating sustainable behaviour change and engagement for action. Common Cause Australia has extensive experience in message research, training and consulting with health promotion organisations across Australia.
