Do you work or volunteer with your community? Are you interested in learning more about focussing on the strengths in your community, and working with those strengths to create positive social change? Are you keen to expand your knowledge and adapt principles into practice?

Join us for this one-day workshop on asset-based community development (ABCD), facilitated by internationally renowned speaker and facilitator Cormac Russell. Cormac brings the experience of having worked for over 25 years across numerous countries, including having spent time in Tasmania.

This session is open to everyone – whether you work with your community, are interested in community development, or are involved with your local Neighbourhood House. You don’t need to be a member of NHT to join.

ABCD shows how local assets like people and physical assets alongside individual strengths are key to ensuring sustainable community development. It explores these questions:

  1. What is it that communities can do best?
  2. What do communities require help with?
  3. What do communities need outside agencies to do for them?
  4. How to connect and engage with communities and partners?

This interactive workshop is a great opportunity to expand on the basics of ABCD, and focus on how to adapt ABCD principles, questions, and enquiries into practice.

Arrive from 9:30am for a 10am start, and we’ll wrap up around 4pm.

All attendees will be catered for – please let us know dietaries when registering.
