Glenorchy City Council invites you to a free LGBTIQA+ inclusion training by Working It Out Tasmania.

9.30am-1pm, Tuesday 24th February at Moonah Arts Centre

The “Being LGBTIQA+ Inclusive” training introduces participants to LGBTIQA+ inclusion through a range of interactive learning activities. This training is delivered by Working It Out Tasmania.

Participants will become familiar with LGBTIQA+ terminology and how to embed inclusive behaviours into everyday activities and organisational practices.

  • Describe issues of discrimination and harassment faced by members of the Tasmanian LGBTIQA+ communities and their consequences
  • Identify personal biases and misconceptions
  • Learn about legislative requirements in relation to LGBTIQA+ inclusion
  • Use appropriate language and terminology in relation to LGBTIQA+ inclusion
  • Embed LGBTIQA+ inclusive practices into every-day behaviours and organisational practices.

 

This workshop is FREE and will run for 3 hours with a short break in the middle.

Moonah Arts Centre has level access and accessible toilets. This workshop will be held in the Maker’s Room, which is a small room used for workshops. Enter through the main doors of the Moonah Arts Centre, and there will be signs and staff to direct you to the right place.

Parking is available close by off Charles Street or Albert Road, including accessible parking spaces right in front of Moonah Arts Centre.

Morning tea will be provided – please let us know if you have any dietary requirements when you register.
