Professor Samar Aoun AM
An internationally recognised leader in public health palliative care, compassionate communities and bereavement support, Professor Aoun has dedicated her career to strengthening community capacity around dying, death and grief. As the Chair of Compassionate Communities Australia, her work continues to influence policy, practice and education both nationally and internationally, with a strong focus on empowering communities to better support one another through end-of-life experiences.
Jean Kittson AM
Much-loved writer, performer and broadcaster Jean Kittson brings warmth, humour and humanity to conversations many people find difficult to have. A passionate advocate for ageing, dementia awareness and end-of-life planning, Jean shares deeply personal reflections and insights that challenge, comfort and inspire audiences in equal measure.
Dr Kerrie Noonan
Founder of the Death Literacy Institute and an internationally respected clinical psychologist and researcher, Dr Noonan is a leading voice in helping communities build confidence and capability around death, dying and grief. Her work explores how increasing “death literacy” can improve wellbeing, strengthen support networks and create more compassionate communities.
Professor Kenneth Hillman AO
Professor Hillman is a leading figure in end-of-life care, advocating for dignified dying practices. As one of Australia’s most respected intensive care specialists, with decades of clinical, academic and health policy experience, he brings powerful insights into how healthcare systems can better support people and families through serious illness, emphasising the importance of patient preferences and dignity in the dying process.
Together with a diverse range of Tasmanian and interstate presenters, the Conference Program will explore clinical practice, compassionate communities, cultural perspectives, lived experience, grief and bereavement, workforce wellbeing, innovation and collaboration across the end-of-life ecosystem. |
