Each year, the Bureau of Meteorology runs a public safety campaign that aims to help Australians to Know Your Weather, Know Your Risk.
This year, the campaign runs from 8 September to 12 October, ahead of Australia’s high risk weather season. It forms an important part of the Bureau’s efforts to build community awareness and strengthen capability to prepare for and respond to natural hazards.
Severe weather can develop quickly and threaten lives and property. You can reduce its impact by taking time to get ready before it happens.
