Organisation: Metro Tasmania

Metro is transitioning to a new customer service model, which means that our Hobart City Shop will close on 30 June 2026. While the city shop is closing, the Metro team is still here to support our customers in a range of ways.

We are moving toward a more flexible model that reflects the way customers are increasingly accessing information and assistance, while continuing to provide support for those who need help through assisted or face-to-face channels.

Our customers will continue to be able to access Metro support through:

  • The Metro website and app for journey planning, timetables, live tracking, service updates and online forms.
  • Email for general enquiries and customer support.
  • Phone support via our information hotline.
  • Targeted face-to-face support at Metro depot offices for customers who need in-person assistance.
  • A modernised community engagement program with targeted community engagement and customer support activities, working closely with:
    • Schools and students;
    • Older Tasmanians;
    • Accessibility and inclusion groups;
    • Vulnerable customers; and
    • Community organisations and local groups.

The new model will place a greater focus on proactive support, education and engagement, helping customers build confidence using Metro services and ensuring those who need additional assistance continue to have access to support.

We understand that some customers will continue to prefer, or require, assisted support. Metro remains committed to ensuring customers can access help and that the transition to new service channels is clear, practical and inclusive.
