TasCOSS Members are invited to an important briefing on a proposed Portable Long Service Leave (PLSL) scheme for Tasmania’s community services industry.
With a Private Members Bill being drafted for consideration in the near future, we strongly encourage members from organisations of all sizes to join the discussion, ask questions and share their perspectives.
Robbie Moore from the Health and Community Services Union (HACSU) and Sam Batchelor from the Australian Services Union (ASU) will brief members on their proposed approach to a PLSL scheme for the industry, including the proposed legislation and what it could mean for workers and organisations. Greg Ogle from the South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) will also speak about learnings from the recently adopted PLSL scheme in South Australia and take your questions.
This is an important opportunity for members to:
- Hear directly from HACSU and ASU about the proposed scheme and legislation;
- Understand and consider the potential implications for your organisation and the broader industry; and
- Ask questions and provide feedback to ensure the perspectives of community service organisations are heard as the proposal progresses.
