TasCOSS Events Terms and Conditions

1. Registration and Payment

  1. All registrations must be completed via the Tasmanian Council of Social Service (TasCOSS) official ticketing platform at tascoss.org.au.
  2. Registration is not confirmed until full payment is received.
  3. TasCOSS reserves the right to cancel unpaid registrations.

2. Pricing

  1. All prices are listed in Australian dollars (AUD) and exclude GST, unless otherwise stated.
  2. Prices are subject to change at any time, however changes will not affect confirmed and paid registrations.

3. Refund Policy

  1. No refunds will be issued for change of mind or non-attendance.
  2. Refunds may be considered in exceptional circumstances at the sole discretion of TasCOSS. TasCOSS will respond to refund requests within ten (10) business days.
  3. Any approved refunds may incur an administrative fee.

4. Transfers and Substitutions

  1. Registrations are fully transferable to another person prior to the event.
  2. Notice of any transfers or substitutions must be given to TasCOSS at least five (5) business days prior to the event.
  3. It is the responsibility of the original registrant to notify TasCOSS of any transfer and provide updated attendee details.

5. Event Changes and Cancellation

  1. TasCOSS reserves the right to change the event date, time, location, format or speakers; or cancel the event if required;
  2. If the event is cancelled by TasCOSS, registrants will receive a full refund of the ticket price. TasCOSS will provide as much notice as reasonably practicable via the email address provided at registration.
  3. TasCOSS is not responsible for any additional costs incurred (e.g. travel, accommodation).

6. Attendance and Conduct

  1. Registrants are expected to behave respectfully and professionally at all times.
  2. TasCOSS reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any registrant whose behaviour is deemed inappropriate, without refund.

7. Photography and Filming

  1. By attending the event, registrants consent to being photographed, filmed and recorded. Registrants who do not wish to be photographed or filmed should notify TasCOSS staff on arrival.
  2. These materials may be used for promotional, marketing and reporting purposes by TasCOSS.

8. Privacy and Data Sharing

  1. By registering, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information for event delivery.
  2. You also consent to your name, organisation and contact details being shared with event facilitators for the purpose of event preparation and follow-up.
  3. Your information will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and TasCOSS’s Privacy Policy at tascoss.org.au/privacy-policy.

9. Intellectual Property

  1. All event materials, presentations, and content remain the intellectual property of TasCOSS and/or facilitators.
  2. Materials may not be recorded, reproduced or distributed without prior written consent.

10. Liability

  1. To the extent permitted by law, TasCOSS is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage suffered by registrants; or technical issues or disruptions outside of its control (including online events).
  2. Registrants participate at their own risk.
  3. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, warranty, or other term or condition, implied or imposed by the Australian Consumer Law which cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11. Accessibility and Dietary Requirements

  1. Registrants are responsible for notifying TasCOSS of any accessibility or dietary requirements at the time of booking and any changes to those requirements must be notified at least five (5) business days prior to the event.
  2. While reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate requests, this cannot be guaranteed.

12. Force Majeure

  1. TasCOSS will not be held responsible for delays or cancellations due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, public health events, or government restrictions.

13. Acceptance of Terms

  1. By completing a registration for a TasCOSS event, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

14. Variation of Terms

  1. TasCOSS reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time.
  2. Updated terms will be published at tascoss.org.au.
  3. Continued registration or attendance following any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

15. Governing Law

  1. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tasmania.
