Organisation: Gender and Disaster Australia

Gender and Disaster Australia is undertaking a national survey to better understand how disasters are impacting communities and the organisations that support them, through a gender lens. We know disasters don’t affect everyone equally. Existing gender inequalities can shape both community need and the pressures placed on services.

This survey aims to capture what this looks like in practice, from the immediate aftermath through to longer-term recovery (up to 36 months).
We’re inviting organisations and services like yours to share insights on:
  • Changes in demand for services following disasters
  • When impacts are emerging (immediate, delayed, longer-term)
  • Key issues being observed (e.g. safety concerns, family and domestic violence, mental health)
  • Pressures on organisations, including capacity, resourcing and funding
  • Groups that may be disproportionately affected
Time commitment: approximately 10 minutes

Please complete by Friday 19 June
Why participate:
Findings will be shared with participating organisations and contribute to a national evidence base to support more informed discussions around funding, planning, and service delivery, with all responses kept confidential and de-identified in reporting.
Your perspective is incredibly valuable in helping ensure that the realities faced by services are better understood.
