Community consultation has now opened for Thriving Kids, a new program that gives young children the best start in life by identifying developmental needs early and connecting families to the right supports.
The Tasmanian Government has entered into a bilateral agreement with the Australian Government to deliver Thriving Kids, a national program providing foundational supports for children aged 8 and under with developmental delay or autism who have low to moderate support needs, and their families.
Children with permanent and significant disability will continue to be supported through the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Thriving Kids will be rolled out in stages from October 2026, with full implementation expected by 1 January 2028.
Community consultation for Thriving Kids will take place between April and June this year.
