The Department of Health Alcohol and Oher Drug Reform Program Team is inviting your feedback on three draft documents that form the AOD Service Delivery Document Suite (AOD SDDS) for Tasmania.

The suite has been developed to progress key actions under the AOD Reform Agenda and has been reviewed by the AOD Program Control Group, focus group members and representatives from key priority populations.

The purpose of the AOD SDDS is to establish a shared understanding of AOD service delivery in Tasmania to make service navigation easier, and to aid coordination, collaboration and communication between the component parts of the Tasmanian AOD system. The suite includes:

  • Specialist AOD Treatment Service Delivery Framework (AOD SDF): It is the foundational document for specialist AOD treatment service delivery in Tasmania, providing an overview of the specialist AOD treatment types available, the eligibility considerations and the referral pathways to access treatment.
  • AOD Service Delivery Principles: Describes the agreed principles for the Tasmanian AOD Sector that organisations and AOD workers adopt as part of their work practices and culture.
  • Tasmanian AOD Sector Service System Continuum: Provides an overview of the Tasmanian AOD Sector across a continuum, where clients can enter the AOD sector service system and at what level of care available.
  • AOD Service Delivery Glossary: It aims to create a shared understanding of common terms and preferred language used across the AOD sector in Tasmania. This document is under development and will be shared separately.

It is important for the documents to reflect the experiences of both people working in, and being supported by, the Tasmanian Specialist AOD Treatment Sector. Your feedback will help shape the final version of all documents.
