Help us develop a new Health Literacy Action Plan for Tasmania!
What is health literacy? It’s how we find, understand, and use health information and services for our wellbeing.
We’re running focus groups in September and want you to help us.
Tasmania has been a health literacy leader both nationally and internationally. In 2011, Tasmania was the first state in Australia to develop and invest in a Health Literacy Action Plan.
In 2024, the University of Tasmania evaluated the Health Literacy Action Plan 2019-2024 This review showed us what strategies have worked well and which areas we can focus on next.
Now, we need your help to:
- Understand what is realistic.
- Identify opportunities.
- Understand barriers and limitations.
- Identify partners, champions, and resources.
Your input will help Public Health Services in partnership with the Health Literacy Network to develop Tasmania’s next Health Literacy Action Plan. The new Health Literacy Action Plan will be launched in 2026.
