Carers Australia is inviting carers across Australia to share their carer journeys in the national Carer Wellbeing Survey. This year, in addition to asking about wellbeing, there is a focus on accessing respite care, the experiences of young carers and carers in defence families, and the adjustments that past carers face when their caring role ends.
The 2025 Carer Wellbeing Survey is now open!
It is estimated that across Australia, three million people provide unpaid care and emotional support to family members and friends with disability, mental ill health, chronic or life-limiting illness, alcohol or other drug dependence or someone who is frail aged. In Tasmania, more than 87,000 people are carers.
