We are officially launching our Raise the Rate Survey for 2026. Income support payments remain well below the poverty line. Every week we hear from people in our community who are skipping meals, going without essential medication, and turning off the heating just to get by.
With unemployment rising across Australia, more people are realising they might have to rely on them in the future if their circumstances change. While this issue has been deeply personal for our Raise the Rate community for a long time, it’s now starting to hit home for even more people.
To continue to build pressure on the government to make real changes, we need to show the media and politicians a complete picture of what it is like to live on these payments right now.
