The Tasmanian LiFE (Living is For Everyone) Awards are an annual event that recognises individuals, workplaces, and communities making a real difference in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention. Aligned with the national LiFE framework, category award recipients automatically become finalists in the national awards.

The LiFE Awards offer a moment to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the remarkable contributions being made across Tasmania. They remind us that suicide prevention takes many forms, from work in community and clinical settings, to everyday conversations, breaking down stigma, and creating safe spaces for people to seek help.

Highlighting the compassion, courage, dedication, and innovative ideas that save lives and support people affected by suicide, these awards recognise those whose efforts continue to bring hope, inspire others, and make it easier for people to ask for help. While much has been achieved together, there is still important work ahead.

If you know someone who has made a positive impact, whether through advocacy, community initiatives, or personal courage, now is the time to recognise their contribution.

Important dates to remember:

  • Nominations Open:Wednesday 1 October 2025
  • Nominations Close:Wednesday 12 November 2025
  • Award Ceremony: Wednesday 18 March 2026 in Hobart

To make nominating easier, we’ve put together a Nominations Guidelines document with everything you need to understand the awards and the nomination process.  We’ve also created ready-to-use social media tiles to help you spread the word.

Why is it Important to Nominate?

Nominating someone for the LiFE Awards is a way to recognise and highlight the incredible contributions being made across Tasmania in suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention.

  • Shine a light on inspiring work: Many people and groups are making a difference every day, often quietly. Nominations help bring their contributions into the spotlight and ensure they are appreciated.
  • Encourage others:Highlighting positive initiatives can inspire others to take action in their communities.
  • Amplify impact:Recognition at the state and national level helps spread awareness and support for effective suicide prevention practices.
  • Strengthen community connection:Acknowledging achievements reminds us that suicide prevention is a shared responsibility and that everyone can play a role.

By nominating, you’re helping to ensure that compassion, courage, and dedication are acknowledged, and that the people making a difference continue to be supported and acknowledged.
