Community organisations working with children and young people are invited to help shape Tasmania’s Harmful Sexual Behaviours Framework Implementation Plan through collaborative workshops in Hobart and Devonport.
The Department for Education, Children and Young People is inviting community organisations with an interest in the sexual safety of children and young people to participate in workshops supporting the implementation of Tasmania’s Harmful Sexual Behaviours Framework.
Published in May 2026, Understanding Children and Young People’s Sexual Behaviours: Tasmania’s Harmful Sexual Behaviours Framework outlines Tasmania’s approach to understanding and responding to sexual behaviours displayed by children and young people.
The workshops will bring together local service providers and community organisations to identify gaps, barriers and opportunities that need to be addressed to implement the Framework across Tasmania.
Two workshops will be held, one in the south and another in the north/north-west, with lunch provided.
Places are limited to 30 attendees per workshop, and in-person attendance is required. Register your interest by emailing safeguarding@decyp.tas.gov.au.
Organisations wishing to participate must register their interest by Wednesday 11 November 2026, providing their preferred workshop location, the name of the staff member attending and any dietary requirements.
Please note: This workshop is a consultation opportunity rather than a training session. It is designed to gather feedback, insights and perspectives from participants, rather than deliver formal training.
