This online self-paced course aims to broaden the learner’s understanding of professional boundaries, as well as develop their skills in setting and maintaining professional boundaries. The importance of professional boundaries in promoting good service delivery, as well as worker wellbeing is also discussed.

The course may take up to 45 minutes to complete and covers the following topics:

  • What are professional boundaries;
  • The importance of professional boundaries for worker wellbeing;
  • The role of professional boundaries in enhancing service delivery;
  • The difference between emotional support and counselling; and
  • How to set and maintain boundaries with clients.

The course includes brief case examples that illustrate the possible consequences of poor professional boundaries as well as guidelines on how to effectively set boundaries.

To assess their understanding of the material in each course learners must answer some multiple-choice, True/False and Yes/No questions.

Learners cannot continue to the next section until they correctly answer all the questions from each section.

If learners get an answer wrong, they are given feedback making it easy to successfully answer the question.

The course costs $55 (incl. GST) per person.

Once a person is enrolled, they have access to the course for three months or until they complete the course, whichever comes first.
