Expressions of Interest: Smoke-Free Community of Practice

TasCOSS are calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to join the new Smoke-Free Community of Practice. Apply below!

TasCOSS is establishing a Community of Practice to provide a safe space for sharing knowledge, peer learning and co-design of new ideas to support community service organisations to integrate smoking cessation activities and smoke-free conversations into everyday practice.

Findings from the TasCOSS Smoke-Free Communities: Conversations around Smoking Cessation project (Phase 1) indicated that community service organisations and people working in the quit smoking space need resources and support.

Specifically, organisations need people who specialise and/or focus on quit smoking. In turn, quit smoking champions and smoking cessation workers need encouragement and support in their work. The idea of a Community of Practice emerged as a first step in meeting these needs.

As part of the Community of Practice, 10 community service organisations will each be provided with $5,000 to run a small project to progress towards smoke-free work areas and services. Apply for funding now!

TasCOSS and Quit Tasmania will work with you to develop an idea that is relevant to your organisation and the people who use your services. EOIs will be assessed by an independent selection panel. Please note, you’ll need to be a member of the Community of Practice first before you can apply for funding.

If you’d like to submit an EOI to join the Community of Practice but have questions or need some help, please contact Melissa Snadden, Smoking Cessation Project Coordinator, on 0414 965 056 or email Melissa.

NB: the questions we ask in the EOI form will be used to help us select a diverse range of projects and community service organisations to work with us. All information you provide will be confidential.
