Flourish is a member-based, independent, not-for-profit organisation that works with mental health consumers, the state mental health system, mental health service providers, and the community to ensure that the voice of lived experience is heard in the planning and delivery of Tasmanian mental health services. Flourish and its Members also work to counter marginalisation, discrimination, stigma and the sense of profound isolation that is often experienced by people living with mental ill-health.
Our People
Many of us that work at Flourish have personal lived experience of mental ill-health and recovery. This helps us to understand deeply the various needs and perspectives of our Members while recognising that everyone’s lived experience is unique.
Flourish seeks wherever possible to recruit its staff from its Membership base. 90% of Flourish’s paid staff are also Flourish Members.
