CEO and Chair Governance Masterclass Program: Leading Together through Change

Build the strategic leadership capability of your organisation’s most dynamic duo!

Community services are operating in an environment of increasing complexity and constant change. This program is an opportunity for your organisation’s CEO and board chair to explore and hone leadership skills and strengthen governance so you can lead together with confidence.

The course will enhance your abilities to deal with shifting external forces, respond to fresh opportunities and build your collective skills to lead and govern in this new, different age.

The program, delivered in conjunction with Leadership and Change Consultants, offers one in-person workshop in Hobart (4 hour), two (1 hour) online sessions in September with special guest speakers, and individual executive coaching support (1 hour per person).

Cost: $189 (incl. GST) for CEO and board chair package

You will receive a response to your EOIs no later than Wednesday 27 July 2022, and confirmed participants will be invoiced. This program is supported by the Department of Communities Tasmania.

About the Provider: Michelle Swallow, Director, Leadership and Change Consultants

Michelle is a highly experienced facilitator, non-executive director, coach and change manager. Michelle has an energetic and engaging style and has built her consulting work on her ability to work with a diverse group of people, concepts, communities and businesses, encouraging individuals and organisations to realise their potential. She is sought after to work alongside boards to enhance governance effectiveness.

Michelle is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a graduate of the Tasmanian Leaders Program, has a Bachelor of Social Work, studied at the London Business School in Negotiating and Influencing and has qualifications in leadership and management. She has held a number of senior executive roles and has experience as a non-executive director across a number of not-for-profit organisations,

As part of the program, you will explore:

  • Adaptive leadership approaches for a complex and changing environment.
  • Leading contemporary community service organisations.
  • Complex stakeholder management and engagement.
  • Managing challenges and capitalising on opportunities.

You will identify a current adaptive challenge facing your organisation, and begin your response.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) Process:

We are calling for EOIs for 10 leadership pairs — the pairs must be made-up of an organisation’s CEO and board chair.

Timeline:

  • EOIs open Wednesday 6 July and close Friday 22 July 2022.
  • Confirmed participants notified no later than Wednesday 27 July 2022.
  • Program commences:
    • In-person workshop (Hobart): 10am-2:30pm, Thursday 25 August 2022.
    • Online session 1: TBC, September 2022.
    • Online session 2: TBC, September 2022.
    • Coaching sessions: as arranged, until the end of October 2022.
