*** Important Update ***

Conversations that Matter: Supporting Clients to Set Meaningful Goals has reached capacity. If you wish to be placed on the waiting list or are no longer able to attend, please contact Ally Smith, CHSP Sector Development Officer, via email.

NB: This training is designed for employees who work for and with Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) funded services and organisations.

“Goal setting is the process of deciding what you want to accomplish and devising a plan to achieve the result you desire. Finding out what makes us tick as a human being, what makes us happy, what we strive to achieve or be part of… that is the key to real individualised goal setting (COTA: Home Care Today).”

Join us for this free practical online workshop which will cover:

  • What goals are and why having them is important,
  • How to talk about goals without using ‘goal setting’ language,
  • Conversations to explore what a client’s goals are and ways to achieve them,
  • Focussing on strengths and setting ‘good’ goals; and
  • Resources, practice examples and information that you can take back to your team.

These workshops are designed for coordinators and team leaders who work with clients to set goals within the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). The aim of the workshops is to support CHSP providers access online training on knowledge and skills in goal setting, and to strengthen their Wellness and Reablement practice.

The workshops will be held over two weeks (2 x 90-minute online sessions). You will need to commit to attend both workshops as well as complete the set workbook activity. Please register for Option A, Option B or Option C depending on your availability. If you are new to online learning, we will support you.

You can join the group remotely using Zoom Video Conferencing. Details on how to join the Zoom Video Conferencing session will be distributed closer to the date. Please refer to the guide on how to join and participate in a TasCOSS training session online using Zoom for more information.
