You are invited to a facilitated workshop with Reconciliation Tasmania on the Voice to Parliament,
TasCOSS are pleased to host a free, interactive workshop on the Voice referendum, facilitated by Reconciliation Tasmania, which members are encouraged to attend. This workshop will help explain the Uluru Statement from the Heart, what the Voice is and what it would do, as well as looking at Tasmania’s special place in this once-in-a-generation referendum.
TasCOSS is formally supporting the ‘Yes’ campaign and as part of our support for the Voice to Parliament, we are keen to ensure our member organisations and the Tasmanian community have access to comprehensive and trustworthy information about the referendum, and the implications of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice to Parliament.
Reconciliation Tasmania’s small group workshops set out to create a safe space for people to have a conversation and ask questions about the referendum. These conversations are focused on giving participants quality, factual information so everyone can make an informed and considered choice on the Voice.
Please note: the conversations are not affiliated with either the ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ campaign and won’t involve suggesting how people should vote.
If you can’t attend this workshop but would like to attend on a different date, you can contact Reconciliation Tasmania directly to book a free workshop for your staff and communities. Please contact bookings@rectas.com.au to make a booking enquiry. A number of free public community workshops are also being held across the state which you can register for here.
Registration closes 5pm, Friday 29 September 2023. For more information, please contact Bronwyn Tilbury, Community Services Development Team Leader, on (03) 6169 9510 or via email.
