TasCOSS receives funding from the Federal Government Department of Health to provide support to Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) providers in Tasmania to build their organisational capacity. A steering group representing a range of service types and regions meet quarterly to guide the project.
TasCOSS offered a suite of exciting and innovative training and professional development opportunities in 2019/20, including a number of leadership and development courses designed to broaden leadership horizons, hone new skills and explore new messaging and communication techniques.
The Community Innovation and Investment Project (CIIP) is a collaborative approach between TasCOSS, Tasmanian communities, Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) and the State Government. A partnership enabling community voice and community change across four Tasmanian communities: Derwent Valley, South East, Break O’Day and West Coast.

Stories and storytelling can inspire, influence, motivate and engage people where logic and bullet points may not. Business storytelling is storytelling with a purpose and for results. TasCOSS partnered with the Local Government Association of Tasmania to facilitate two, half-day informative, practical business storytelling sessions with Yamini Naudu.
The Tasmanian Community Fund partnered with TasCOSS to provide one-day training in partnership building and collaboration at three one-day workshops in Burnie, Launceston and Hobart. Partnership Brokers Australia delivered the training.
TasCOSS continued to engage with some of the families participating in the pilot throughout 2019, including continued contact with some who transitioned to school in 2020, feeding back their voice and experience to the Department of Education.
Change Your Impact is an innovative new program for those that work in and with community services that will equip participants with the skills and confidence to emerge as a leader in the workplace.
Policy Conversations is an ongoing series of free 90-minute events hosted by TasCOSS. The Policy Conversations series aims to give members of the community services industry opportunities to share information and discuss current state and federal policy issues while also providing a forum to gather input for the industry’s submissions to government on specific issues and other advocacy work.
