World Elder Abuse Awareness Day 2021 Activities

The United Nations has designated 15 June World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD). On this day each year, communities all over the globe take a stand against the abuse of older people.

COTA Tasmania’s World Elder Abuse Awareness Day activities in 2021 include Walks Against Elder Abuse in Hobart, Launceston and Burnie, the Ageing My Way exhibition in Burnie, and the second free online event in the Walk the Talk Forum Series 2021, Driving Long-Term Change: Australia’s Response to Elder Abuse.

The walks are supported by each local councils, who provide a warming free morning tea after the events. 

To register, email lynm@cotatas.org.au or ring 6231 3265 by 10 June. Registrations are essential to ensure the events are COVID-safe and there are refreshments for all.
