Come and find out why bi-visibility matters to the work you do and the lives of bisexual people. Join a panel of researchers and health workers as we reflect on the current experience of bisexual people and the Tasmanian context and how we can improve the mental health outcomes for bisexual people.
Recent research shows that that bisexual people have significantly worse mental health outcomes than heterosexual, gay and lesbian people. In particular, rates of suicidality are significantly higher in the bisexual population.
Our panel discussion will put this story into a Tasmanian context. This is an opportunity to reflect on our practice, our organisations and on how we change the experience of bisexual people in Tasmania.
Why Bi-visibility Matters is a free event and places are limited. Tea and coffee and a light afternoon tea will be provided.
