Hosted by Health Promotion North, with guest presenter Michelle Nicholson, this webinar will explore the Tasmanian Government practice guidelines for government and non-government employees, and look at the key responsibilities that front line staff and management have in response to elder abuse.

Keeping older people safe from harm and responding respectfully in line with Tasmanian Government guidelines is a key responsibility for all Tasmanian workers. Circumstances surrounding abuse may raise difficult legal, ethical and practice challenges. The Tasmanian guidelines help front line and management staff to be able to identify, manage and appropriately respond to suspected and actual incidents of elder abuse.

The guidelines also assist in the prevention of elder abuse and are a key resource for everyone who comes into contact with elderly patients/clients and their families or primary carers. This webinar will provide an overview of the guidelines, as well as access to the related resources.

This is one in a series of live webinars hosted by Health Promotion North.
