Do you have a Bachelor or Masters of Social Work degree and would like to help support the professionals of tomorrow? Are you working in a community, health, education, government or not-for-profit organisation and would have the time to support a student in their learning?
The School of Social Sciences have commenced preparation for 2019 Field Education placements. As part of their course, students undertake a minimum 500-hour placement, learning and integrating the theory from the classroom into practice. The success of the placement relies on the support of agencies and social worker practitioners, and we are currently looking to establish new connections to increase our offering in this space.
We would love to hear from you if you are you based in Tasmania, have a minimum 2-years practice experience and could:
- Support a student in your organisation to undertake their field education placement, or
- Provide external weekly clinical supervision of 1.5hr to a student on placement (requires Social Work qualifications), or
- Act as a liaison officer, visiting students x2 throughout their placement to monitor their progress and learning (requires Social Work qualifications),
