    Volunteers are everywhere, giving up their time for the benefit of others, offering a helping hand wherever it’s needed.

    Volunteering is defined as: ‘time willingly given for the common good and without financial gain’;  the Tasmanian Volunteering Awards recognises excellence in voluntary service and raises awareness and appreciation of the quality and variety of volunteers throughout Tasmania.

    Categories include:

    • The Arts, Heritage and Tourism Award
    • The Anglicare Lifestyle Community Care and Health Award
    • The MyState Education, Science and Technology Award
    • The Lifeline Tasmania  Emergency Services and Disaster Recovery Award
    • The NRM South Environment, Animal Care and Conservation Award
    • The Sport and Recreation Award

    Nominations close at 5pm on Friday, the nominators of the three finalists of each category will be contacted in the week starting 27 March 2017. If you are the nominator of a finalist, you will also be invited to attend the Awards ceremony, along with your nominee, at Government House on Monday May 8, 2017.
