Wear Teal Tuesday – Sexual Assault Awareness Month

7 April 2020

Organized By

Sexual Assault Support Services

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). The goal of SAAM is for individuals and organisations to raise public awareness about sexual harassment, assault, and abuse and educate communities on how to prevent it.

This year the theme is “I Ask.” Our goal is prevention. Since consent is a clear, concrete example of what it takes to end sexual harassment, abuse, and assault, this year’s campaign shares the message that asking for consent is a normal and necessary part of intimacy.

On Tuesday 7 April 2020, wearing teal, whether it’s a teal ribbon, shirt or other accessory, will serve as a conversation starter for important issues around consent, respect and supporting survivors.
