Provide Feedback on the Draft Renewable Energy Action Plan

1 November 2020

There is increasing recognition by decision-making bodies about the need for and benefits of seeking children and young people’s views when developing policy that will have an impact on their lives, now and into the future.

Our children and young people are acutely aware that they will have to live with the decisions Governments of today make now and into the near future. Tasmanian children and young people have already clearly told us that climate change and the debate around renewable energy versus fossil fuels are incredibly important to them, so it’s excellent to see a government specifically consulting them on this issue.

The Draft Tasmanian Renewable Energy Action Plan, designed in a version for children and young people, is recognition of the importance of consulting with them.

The CCYP encourages children and young people children and young people to have their say, and indeed all Tasmanians. You can view the State Government’s Draft Renewable Energy Action Plan at and provide your feedback on it by completing a short survey at
