Volunteering Tasmania is the peak body for volunteering in Tasmania. Our purpose is to help Tasmanians experience the benefits of volunteering. Volunteering Tasmania is a state-wide, not-for-profit organisation with head office in Hobart.
With annual elections due, enthusiastic, experienced and skilled people are encouraged to indicate interest in joining the Volunteering Tasmania Board. Board positions are voluntary and not remunerated. Up to three elected Directors may be filled at this time.
Board Role: The Volunteering Tasmania Board provides governance and strategic leadership to the organisation.
Attributes Sought: We are seeking individuals able to complement our existing Board. We would like to talk to you if you have some of the following –
- Board and senior management experience.
- Government relations.
- Public profile and personal networks.
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically.
- The ability to attend meetings and contribute to committees and out of session discussions and decision-making.
Length of Term: Three years (a one-year appointment may be considered in some instances).
Meetings and Time Commitment: We meet around 6 times per year on average with active sub-committees, a commitment of around 5-10 hours per month on Director duties.
