Nominations for the annual Human Rights Awards are open now across nine categories: The Human Rights Medal; the Young People’s Human Rights Medal; the Law Award; the Business Award; the Community Organisation Award; the Government Award; the Media Award; the Racism. It Stops With Me Award; and the Tony Fitzgerald Community Individual Award.
The awards winners and finalists will join an esteemed list of recipients, including last year’s joint Human Rights Medallists Chrissie Foster and the Honourable Justice Peter McClellan, and Young People’s Human Rights Medallist Saxon Mullins.
The winners across our other categories in 2018 had very diverse experience in the promotion of human rights, ranging from individuals inspired to advocate outside their day-to-day work based on the experience of family and friends to organisations dedicated to advocating for human rights causes.
Nominations are open until Monday 15 July 2019.
The Awards will be presented in Sydney on Friday 13 December, with tickets available in October this year.
