Motivational Interviewing: Working effectively with change and resistance

Hosted by Health Promotion North and with guest presenter Michelle Nicholson this webinar will provide information and discussion around motivational interviewing, with a particular focus on working with clients around change and managing resistance.

Presenter: Michelle Nicholson | Senior Community Health Social Worker | Primary Health North

Michelle graduated from UTAS in 1994 and since that time has worked with people who experience co-morbid chronic conditions. Michelle has a particular interest in chronic conditions, elder abuse and neglect, and a long term interest in complex trauma and the development of chronic conditions.

She was involved in the development of the state competency toolkit, the OPALL program and the Breathe program for people with chronic depression, anxiety and other co-morbid conditions. Michelle is one of two accredited master trainers for the chronic conditions self management programs in Tasmania.
