This report is a collation of the data gathered from key stakeholder and community contacts from the Burnie area who participated in a focus group for the Making the Difference project. The focus group represents the second step of a detailed research phase for this project which aims to develop a deeper understanding of the barriers impacting disengaged adult learners in our community. The end goal of this project is to provide a responsive learning program to support the needs of participants to return to learning.
The focus group session saw active involvement by 19 participants and has increased current knowledge concerning the barriers and issues that affect adult learners in Burnie. The group shared and discussed a multiplicity of views which generated a large amount of valuable information.
