Applications are now open for the 2020 LGBTIQ+ Grants Program, which provides up to $50,000 to community organisations, tertiary institutions and local government.
Funding is provided to projects focusing on ‘Developing Community Capacity for Issues-Based Advocacy and Leadership’, and which support research into discrimination and harassment.
The Program aims is to build the resilience of LGBTIQ+ communities in Tasmania, and promote awareness of LGBTIQ+ issues.
It’s part of the Tasmanian majority Liberal Government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society where all Tasmanians have an equal opportunity to contribute to Tasmanian life.
Jeremy Rockliff, Minister for Disability Services and Community Development want to support communities to recognise and treat all Tasmanians with dignity and respect, regardless of their relationship status, sexuality, gender identity or intersex characteristics.
