The Commissioner for Children and Young People (CCYP) Ambassador Program is a new opportunity for children and young people to have their voices heard on how things could be improved for children and young people in Tasmania.
Ambassadors help the CCYP to understand what is important for children and young people and are provided with opportunities to come together to discuss key issues and influence decision-makers.
Almost 200 children and young people from around Tasmania were involved in the CCYP Ambassador Program in 2019.
The CCYP is currently seeking expressions of interest from children and young people aged 9—17 years from around Tasmania who are interested in becoming a CCYP Ambassador in 2020. There are places for up to 100 new children and young people to be involved in the program this year. This will mean that we will have a group of approximately 160 CCYP Ambassadors, which is a slight reduction on last year’s numbers.
