Nominations are invited from suitably skilled people with an interest in being part of the governance of a small Tasmanian not for profit organisation. Board positions are voluntary, with 1, 2 or 3 year appointment terms available.

Arthritis & Osteoporosis Tasmania (AOT) is an incorporated association established in 1976.  AOT’s purpose is to improve the quality of life for Tasmanians affected by arthritis, osteoporosis, and related musculoskeletal conditions. Based in Moonah, it provides advocacy, information, self-management and healthy lifestyle support services, and as an RTO, accredited training services.

Selection Criteria

As a minimum, candidates are required to:

Have experience with the governance of a not for profit, or willingness to learn

·      Commitment to AOT’s purpose and vision

·      Be able to commit and participate (that is, attend a Board meeting every two months (2 hours), with additional time to review agenda papers and prepare to contribute.

·      Maintain financial membership of AOT

The specific knowledge and experience AOT seek this year includes:

·      Legal qualifications and experience.

·      Marketing and communications expertise.

·      Commercial/business experience.

·      Advocacy strategy skills and experience.
