TasCOSS continues to provide coaching and mentoring for community service organisations around improving their organisational health literacy.
The project supports organisations to use the HeLLOTas! Toolkit, a unique resource designed by Tasmanian community services. TasCOSS receives funding from Primary Health Tasmania and Public Health Services to facilitate Peer Learning Groups and other development opportunities.
The financial year included the completion of instructional ‘teach-back’ video resources for the GP sector that are currently being promoted by Primary Health Tasmania. Unprecedented levels of engagement in the online Peer Learning Groups during COVID-19 has been a key development to note with attendance at the monthly sessions increasing around 250% per session across the last 12 months. This prompted delivery of an intensive Health Literacy Action Planning workshop held in June 2020, actively assisting organisations to implement changes for improved health literacy.

Hooked! Connect, Engage and Inspire with Business Storytelling
Stories and storytelling can inspire, influence, motivate and engage people where logic and bullet points may not. Business storytelling is storytelling with a purpose and for results. TasCOSS partnered with the Local Government Association of Tasmania to facilitate two, half-day informative, practical business storytelling sessions with Yamini Naudu.
Tasmanian Community Fund Partnership/Collaboration Training
The Tasmanian Community Fund partnered with TasCOSS to provide one-day training in partnership building and collaboration at three one-day workshops in Burnie, Launceston and Hobart. Partnership Brokers Australia delivered the training.
Policy Conversations is an ongoing series of free 90-minute events hosted by TasCOSS. The Policy Conversations series aims to give members of the community services industry opportunities to share information and discuss current state and federal policy issues while also providing a forum to gather input for the industry’s submissions to government on specific issues and other advocacy work.
