TasCOSS receives funding from the Federal Government Department of Health to provide support to Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) providers in Tasmania to build their organisational capacity. A steering group representing a range of service types and regions meet quarterly to guide the project.
In the past financial year, TasCOSS has been busy supporting the CHSP sector as they have transitioned to different ways to deliver their services cue to COVID-19. This has included supporting the setup of shared practice sessions on how to manage the challenges and opportunities for collaborative practice and co-facilitating a Community of Practice providing information and support to both the CHSP and wider community services sector as they work remotely. All training was moved to an online format which was well attended and many attendees commended the convenience of attending this way. Workshop topics included: duty of care vs dignity of risk, supporting clients to set meaningful goals; and continuous improvement in consumer directed care. From these experiences a series of workshops based on the diversity inclusion framework has been developed and will be delivered online to further support the CHSP sector to embed the Aged Care Quality Standards into practice.

Policy Conversations is an ongoing series of free 90-minute events hosted by TasCOSS.
