The due date for written submissions to the Department of Treasury and Finance relating to the 2022/23 State Budget has been confirmed as Friday 10 December 2021.
The Tasmanian Government is yet to confirm the date the 2022/23 State Budget will be presented to Parliament. We will advise you as soon as we are made aware.
The Budget Priorities Submission process provides a valuable opportunity to set out what we want to achieve as a community services industry in the short-, medium- and long-term.
Guidance on how to make a submission and the community consultation process can be found on the Department of Treasury and Finance’s website (treasury.tas.gov.au). Written submissions should be forwarded electronically to: email@example.com. This year, a cover sheet is also requested to be completed along with your submission. This is also available on the Treasury website.
To assist in the process, TasCOSS has prepared a step-by-step guide to preparing a Budget Priorities Statement.
The guide walks you through the major components of the submission, including suggested structure, determining key focus areas, gathering supporting evidence and providing costings for your recommendations.
Please let us know if you require further information. As always, TasCOSS is on hand to provide assistance with budget submissions. If you would like TasCOSS’s input, please contact Dr Charlie Burton, Manager Policy, on (03) 6169 9514 or email Charlie.
